After spending time in the non-profit sector and in corporate America, Brian G. Murphy struck out on his own to find a balance in the middle. He draws upon the design, production, and marketing experience he acquired during his time in fim and television—on set and at the network—and is able to apply those skills in a particularly effective manner with his small business, non-profit, and individual clients as he also spent time working with numerous non-profit organizations in the United States and abroad.
In college, he worked at Trojan Vision, the University of Southern California's award-winning television station, and served as Executive Producer for one of the station's longest running programs. Under his leadership, the show was picked up by Los Angeles cable systems and the Open Student Television Network, broadcasting to over 10 million households. In his final semester, he was tapped by ION Media Networks to develop a pilot for one of their networks.
After graduating a semester early, he spent two months on the road with the Equality Ride, a project of Soulforce, a national non-profit social justice organization. In fall 2007, he relocated to New York City to take a job at qubo, a bilingual children's television network which is a joint venture between industry leaders Scholastic and NBC-Universal, among others.
